We made it back to Bali. This time we stayed in Ubud. It’s much more relaxed than the areas to the south and closer to more natural areas. As an idea, this was the walk to our villa.
On the first day we wandered around town to relax a bit after all of the walking and climbing of the temples in Siem Reap. For lunch we ate Babi Guling–roasted suckling pig–at a restaurant our cab driver from the airport recommended: Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka. It is served with several different parts of the pig including a crunchy piece of the skin (very good, but neither of us thought to take a picture).
The restaurant has some neat stonework and a really nice garden area with several cockatoos.
After we ate, I got a really good, and cheap, haircut at the Ubud Barbershop while Tracey treated herself to her fourth massage of the trip.
After exploring a bit more on the way back to the Villa, we spent the rest of the day relaxing in and by the pool. Ubud is a fun place to just walk around and explore. There are temples everywhere (most are open to visitors who are appropriately dressed), lots of shops and lots.of other neat things to see.
